In a town of Nazareth so fair
An angel appeared in the air
To a virgin named Mary
He said, “Do not be wary
For you will bear a son beyond compare”

In a field where the shepherds did roam
An angel appeared, not alone
He told them good news
Of a baby to choose
And they went to see and made known

There once was a light in the night
That shone with a heavenly might
It brought us salvation
And freed us from damnation
A beacon of hope burning bright

In a town far away from the east,
A decree went out for a census feast.
So Joseph and Mary
Traveled weary and wary,
To Bethlehem, where their journey ceased.

A mountaintop was where they went
To witness a most wondrous sight
The transfiguration there
Of Jesus, so fair
For the three who were chosen that night

A man with a banquet to give
Said, “Come, all who are poor, and they’ll live
For the Kingdom of God
Is not found in a sod
But in those who to others will give

A woman of ill repute

Had an alabaster flask to boot
She entered a place
Where Jesus had grace
And washed His feet with her soot

A man who will build a great tower
Must count the cost before the hour
For if his funds are too low
He’ll be laughed at by the crow
And his building project will cower

Two travelers on the road to Emmaus,
Were discussing the recent events in Jerusalem.
They’d heard of a man,
Who’d been crucified and slain,
But then rose up from death, glorious and free.
