In a land where the fig trees grow,
A seeker approached with a glow.
He spoke of the light,
And visions so bright,
In truth, he would help us to know. -
Revelation 12.7-12
In a cosmic clash fierce and bright,
Angels battled with all of their might.
The dragon was tossed,
In defeat he was lost,
As joy filled the heavens with light. -
Psalm 103.19-end
In the heavens, the throne stands so high,
With a rule that extends through the sky.
His angels take flight,
In His wisdom and might,
While His love for the earth will not die.
As a father shows mercy and grace,
So He cares for our every embrace.
Though our lives may be brief,
His compassion’s our chief,
In His arms, we find solace and place. -
Matthew 13.31-33
In a garden, a seed was sown small,
With potential to rise and stand tall.
It grew into a tree,
Where birds found their glee,
A haven for all, great and small.
A pinch of yeast mixed in the dough,
Transforms it with warmth, watch it grow.
A little can spread wide,
Bringing joy far and wide,
As life’s wonders continue to flow. -
Matthew 13.3-8
A sower once scattered his seeds,
On paths, in the rocks, and in weeds.
Some thrived in the sun,
While others were done,
Yet some bore a crop that exceeds! -
Matthew 18.12-14
In a flock where the sheep roam so free,
One wandered off, lost at sea.
The shepherd took flight,
Through the dark of the night,
To bring back that lamb joyfully. -
Mark 9.30-37
In a town where the whispers did flow,
The disciples were puzzled, you know.
They argued in vain,
Who’s greatest? The claim,
But a child taught them all with a glow.
With humility’s grace, they were shown,
That the least among us has grown.
To welcome the small,
Is to honor the call,
In the kingdom, true love is our throne. -
James 3.13-4.3, 7-8a
In the heart where true wisdom resides,
Humility’s grace gently guides.
But when envy takes hold,
And ambition turns bold,
Peace and love quickly slide to the sides.
So submit and draw near with pure aim,
Resist all that stirs up strife’s flame.
For in kindness we find,
A true peace of mind,
And our hearts will be free from the blame. -
Psalm 54
When foes rise up with intent to deceive,
In the shadows, I find strength to believe.
With a heart full of grace,
I seek refuge in His face,
For my trust in the Lord, I will cleave. -
Jeremiah 11.18-20
In shadows where whispers conspire,
A plot brews with treachery dire.
The innocent stand,
With truth in their hand,
While the wicked face judgment’s fire.
